Latest News: Paris 2024 Medal Watch

Australia has had a spectacular start to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games winning a total of 4 gold medals and 2 silver medals within the first 2 days.

Day 1, we saw Grace Brown claim gold by 90 seconds in the Road Cycling – Women’s individual time trial.

Our Dolphins dominated in the pool, with the women’s 4×100 team of Mollie O’Callaghan, Shayna Jack, Emma McKeon, and Meg Harris winning gold. This is the fourth consecutive Olympics that Australia has won gold in this event. Elijah Winnington narrowly missed out on gold, claiming silver in the 400m freestyle, while the Men’s 4x100m Freestyle team of Jack Cartwright, Flynn Southam, Kai Taylor and Kyle Chalmers claimed silver after an inspirational swim from Kyle Chalmers.

The final medal of day two was secured by Australian Flag Bearer, Jess Fox. Jess had a terrific performance in the Canoe Slalom K1 that solidified an amazing start to the 2024 Paris Games by Australia.

A huge shout out to Harvey Norman Ambassador, Ariarne Titmus for dominating the Women’s 400m Final to secure the gold medal over Summer McIntosh and Katie Ledecky.

The 200m Freestyle Final was an excitement filled event for Australia. Ariarne Titmus went up against teammate Mollie O’Callaghan to fight for gold. In the end Mollie claimed the win with Ariarne coming a close second. A sense of pride fell over the country as Mollie and Ariarne went 1-2, with Mollie inviting Ariarne onto the top step of the podium to sing the anthem.
