I’d never used a coffee machine before – despite my fondness for a flat white. So, when I was asked to review the new De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine, I was excited but a tad nervous.
However, my nerves were quickly put to rest as I got into using the latest De’Longhi Coffee Machine. I soon discovered how incredibly easy it was to make a delicious cup of coffee.
To find out more about how simple it is to become your own barista, continue reading my De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine review.

Unboxing the De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine
Delighted to start using the De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine, I uncovered all the equipment and accessories needed to use my new appliance.
Along with the Coffee Machine itself, there was a 1.4L water tank, a water filter, a milk carafe, two 250g bean hoppers, a hot water spout, a spoon, a descaler and a water hardness strip.

Using the De’Longhi Rivelia’s Bean Switch System
Different coffee beans bring out the best flavours in each coffee drink. However, my friends told me that switching various beans in and out of a hopper can often be a bit of a challenge. Turns out that wasn’t the case at all with the De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine. With two interchangeable hoppers, it was so easy to move onto a different coffee bean. Whether I wanted a strong espresso in the morning or a decaf in the evening, it was convenient to satisfy different tastes. The Bean Switch System also lets you make one last drink with the remaining beans or simply grind them away for a seamless switching experience.

Taking advantage of the De’Longhi Rivelia’s Bean Adapt Technology
The Bean Adapt Technology on the De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine is another function that caught my eye. It adapted the grind, dose, and temperature to suit the coffee beans I used for my drink. Over time, I’ve found the intelligence of this function has allowed me to make consistently delicious coffees no matter what style I opt for.
Creating your favourite cup of coffee on the 3.5” Full Colour Swipe Screen
What I really like about the Swipe Screen on the De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine is its vivid and smooth display, making navigating the different options and settings a breeze. The display guided me through the entire coffee-making process with suggestions, pictures and prompts – perfect for a coffee machine-beginner.

The De’Longhi Rivelia is stylish, compact & highly functional
All these easy-to-use and helpful functions are packed into the De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine’s stylish and sleek design. I was surprised that an appliance packed with all these functions could be so compact.
It only measures at W24.5cm x D43cm x H38.5cm and has a net weight of 9.7kg, making it the perfect, streamlined addition to any kitchen. It’s available in three stunning colours that will match all kitchen aesthetics – Onyx Black, Pebble Grey and Arctic White. I tested out the Onyx Black and was in love with its versatile, contemporary look.

In order to complement the Rivelia’s stylish aesthetic, I’m considering investing in a Toaster and Kettle from the De’Longhi Eclettica Breakfast Collection. The complementary designs of these De’Longhi appliances are sure to make for an elevated at-home café experience.

Putting the De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine to the test
When it came time for my first test of the De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine, I was excited to see if the coffee it made lived up to its impressive list of functions and eye-catching appearance.
To kick things off, I filled the water tank to the maximum as outlined on the side of the tank, filled one of the bean hoppers up with my chosen coffee beans and filled up the milk carafe. I turned on the machine and it started with a quick heat-up.

Then, using the Swipe Screen, I chose to make a flat white from the milk-based drink options.

The machine then prompted me to set the milk frothing dial on the carafe as per its instructions and off it went, making me a nice flat white. Frothed milk and coffee soon filled the cup and I was keen to try it.

I was satisfied that the taste resembled that of a flat white from any of my usual coffee spots. Thanks to the LatteCrema Hot Technology, the milk was as smooth and creamy as I’d expect at cafes.

It was such a simple process to satisfy my coffee cravings, even for an amateur in the kitchen like myself.
With its automatic cleaning cycles, the coffee making process ended with the auto-clean of the milk carafe.
Personalised coffee making experience
The De’Longhi Rivelia Automatic Coffee Machine has 16 customisable drink recipes so you can choose from a broad range of beverage options. Over the past couple weeks, since initially using the Rivelia, I’ve found this to be a great feature. It has allowed me to switch between creating my go-to drinks while trying out ones I’ve never had before.
I’ve also really enjoyed the fact that I can save my customised recipes to 1 of 4 personal profiles, so they’re always ready whenever I need it. The CoffeeRoutines functionality lets you set the type of coffee you like at each point of the day, the size of your drink and more in order to suit your changing tastes through the morning, afternoon and evening.
