Who were the 2024 delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Award Winners?
This year, 6 thoroughly deserving winners were crowned by the National Judging Panel. The Panel itself was made up of a virtual who’s who of the Australian food scene, including Matt Moran, Danielle Alvarez, Karena Armstrong, Jo Barrett, Peter Gilmore, Lennox Hastie, Andrew McConnell, Josh Niland, Matt Stone and Alla Wolf-Tasker.
One of the night’s winners was Moorlands Biodynamic Lamb based in the NSW Southern Tablelands, who took home the ‘From The Paddock’ category. Owner Vince Heffernan paid special tribute to Gerry Harvey when accepting the award.
“I’m going to single out Gerry Harvey of Harvey Norman, because Gerry’s done great work with regards to the property that he owns. He owns a farm, and he really walks the walk, but doesn’t talk the talk. He’s spent a lot of money with a process called natural sequence farming that really tries to repair the landscape. And I think that Harvey Norman are the major sponsor of this event because of Gerry’s personal commitment to better farming. And, so, I’d just like to sum up by saying I’m really pleased that we’re getting recognition, because it is possible to look after the land, to repair the land, to look after the ecosystem and all the native flora and fauna and produce great food at the same time.”
