Latest News: Harvey Norman Para-Tough Cup

On the 7th of February this year, with the Paralympic Games of Paris fast approaching, Harvey Norman tested their grit and showed their support, participating in the action-filled fun of the challenging Para-Tough Cup.

“I think the Para-Tough Cup offers this unique experience of trying Para-Sports. But what it also does, I think, is it unites teams.” – Angela Garniss, Paralympics Australia.

Harvey Norman’s corporate team members and suppliers got out of their elements to go for gold in Wheelchair Basketball, Goalball and Sitting Volleyball at Sydney Olympic Park earlier this year. Australian Paralympians Tristan Knowles, Amy Ridley and Japhy Duldig led the event, ready to educate, encourage and offer their invaluable knowledge and experience.

“We’ve taken the people of Harvey Norman out of their normal comfort zone, and it’s been really, really cool to watch different groups work out how to play Wheelchair Basketball and communicate in Goalball when you can’t see.” – Tristan Knowles, Australian Paralympian.

Offering not only a chance for the Harvey Norman team to experience first-hand some of the sports of our talented Paralympic athletes while learning from their very best, the Para-Tough Cup also helps Aussie Paralympic stars shine bright, raising funds to support our top athletes in training and competition, to Paris 2024 and beyond.

“Para-Sport plays an important role in the broader community. And so to have people participate in that, and feel the environment and the vibe of adaptive sport, has been fantastic.” – Amy Ridley, Australian Paralympian.

As a proud Team partner and Official retailer for Paralympics Australia, Harvey Norman continues to aid the Paralympic movement through education and support, tackling stigmas surrounding disabilities while supporting our talented Paralympian athletes.
