The Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer is the first steamer by Tefal that dewrinkles, sanitises and dries automatically.
Straight-forward to use thanks to its easy open/close design and included remote control, this Automatic Garment Steamer requires minimal effort. It will:
► Dewrinkle up to three items in 10 minutes, so you can wear your favourite garments in no time.
► Remove up to 99.99% of viruses, bacteria and germs from garments and textiles within 20 to 40 minutes* and remove odours such as smoke or fried food.

How does the Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer work?
The Tefal Care For You uses natural steam to dewrinkle garments and remove germs with its Steam and Sanitize modes. This steam is formed with water placed in the unit’s water tank.
Hanging garments in the device is simple with three hangers provided. Four large straighteners and eight small straighteners have also been included. These straighteners can be clamped onto your garments to assist with dewrinkling.
Once you’ve placed your garments inside, all you must do is close the unit and select your chosen mode via the remote control. The remote can also be used to adjust the time of operation.
Who is the Tefal ‘Care For You’ Automatic Garment Steamer ideal for?
It’s tempting to say the obvious – the Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer is ideal for anyone with clothes to take care of! However, breaking it down a little further, there’s a couple demographics who will really get maximum use out of the technology.
One group is those who wear shirts, dresses, suits or the like to work daily – whether that’s office workers, hospitality workers, or otherwise. Having the ability to effortlessly straighten and sanitise garments the night before, or the morning of, really is the ultimate convenience.
A second group that will love the Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer is parents. Messy garments, linen and soft toys can be automatically sorted out with the drying and sanitising functions. Meanwhile, Mum or Dad can attend to all other matters that come with being a parent.
Can a garment steamer really replace an iron?
For me, there’s just no comparison. Being one who doesn’t like to iron, I find the dewrinkling function in the Care For You provides great results for my garments.
Based on my own personal experience of using the Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer vs. using an iron, I’ve found the Tefal to be so much easier to use – although I should state that I’m terrible with an iron!

Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer for Shirts
The first garments I decided to place in the Tefal Care For You were three very crinkly work shirts. The seemingly infinite creases were the result of a week spent lying at the bottom of the wash basket.
Before putting the shirts in, I of course had to set up the Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer. Luckily for lazy old me, all this involved was plugging it in, lifting the retractable/extendable sides (super easy!), and putting water in the water tank.
With that done, I popped the shirts on the included hangers and hung them in the Automatic Garment Steamer.
Next, I placed some of the included straighteners on the shirts and closed the Tefal Care For You. I then used the remote to select the Steam function, adjusted the operation time with one press of a button, and pressed Start.
All that was left to do was wait 15 minutes.
*BEEP*
I eagerly came running in from the kitchen as the Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer let me know time was up and my shirts were ready.
I opened the Garment Steamer to reveal three beautifully steamed shirts. They felt nice and warm – but not too hot (sorry, just having a Goldilocks moment). And, importantly, that damp scent they had when I’d put them in was totally gone!
Very impressive. And so much easier than an iron!
Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer for Kids Toys
As the father of two wonderful but utterly dirty children, the sanitising functionality of the Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer really appealed to me.
My kids are forever bringing their clothes and toys into close contact with a myriad of germs and bacteria. That’s not to mention the amount of gross muck they get on everything else in the house as well – from linen to my own clothes! Making sure things are kept hygienic can be tiring work.
Clearly in desperate need of a garment steamer for parents, the Tefal Care For You couldn’t have come into my possession at a better time. Our teething 12-month-old had spent the past 48 hours slobbering on every soft toy she could find, and we needed to sanitise them, pronto.
Promising the ability to kill up to 99.99% of viruses, bacteria and germs* from textiles and garments, while removing odours, I clipped the toys into the Tefal Care For You.
Again, all I then had to do was close the Garment Steamer up, select Sanitize on the remote (choosing between the 20 or 40 minute time setting) and press Start.
During those 20 minutes, the Tefal Care For You steamed up the water from the tank and began the Sanitizing process. Upon completion, I simply opened the Garment Steamer up and took the toys off the clips. They were ready to be chewed again. Now, obviously our 1-year-old made sure we had to sanitise them again before day’s end – but at least doing so was now a super easy process!
Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer for Linen
Beyond steaming and sanitising, the Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer also provides a gentle drying functionality.
That’s perfect for washed clothes that you need carefully dried in a hurry.
It also happens to be perfect for linen that’s accidently become waterlogged – which, believe it or not, happens multiple times a day at my house.
Each night my eldest will inevitably spill a cup of water on her pillow at about 2am. And each morning, the little one will pull a towel into her bathtub.
I’m not blameless either, however. With dish-drying skills that are on par with my ironing ability, my tea towel collection ends up absolutely drenched most arvos. Which brings me to my Tefal Care For You Automatic Garment Steamer drying test.
I clipped in the freshly soaked tea towels and selected Dry, followed by Start on the remote. The Automatic Garment Steamer then did its thing.
10 minutes later and they were dry as can be!
